How to get started in setting up an Extras Account?

Step-by-step process to successfully set up your Extras Account

ExtrasJar is a digital fintech company. Given this, you can set up your account easily wherever you are because everything is done online!

Simply go to the following links and accomplish the steps in this article to create your account seamlessly.

Step #1: Choose a plan or create your own

You will kick off your revolutionary journey by choosing from our pre-designed plans. If you are getting a health extras plan, select whether it is for yourself (just me), you and your partner (couple), your entire squad (family), or your kids (me & kids). Meanwhile, if you want to provide coverage for your furry friend, just select whether your pet is a dog or cat.

We designed three plans for each selection in both health and pet extras:

  • Active Extras if you want more peace of mind and save for more than just regular checkups;

  • Athlete Extras if you are a health guru who wants to be Zen about having funds ready when needed; and

  • Custom Extras if you want to customise your monthly or fortnightly premium

You also have the liberty to create your own if you think our pre-designed plans are not suited for your lifestyle, budget, and needs. Feel free to reach us at so we can discuss your customised plan.

Step #2: Create an ExtrasJar Extras Account

After selecting the plan you desire, you can now set-up your ExtrasJar Extras Account. You will receive a prompt from EJ, your digital assistant if you already have an account.

Choose “Nope” if you haven’t created an account in the past. And then, the account set-up form will be shown to you where you have to enter your unique email address and password and click the “Create Account” button. After which, you must save your contact details by providing us with your first name, last name, and contact number.

If you already created an account before, just click “Yes” in the prompt and log into your account.

Step #3: Verify your identity

Before we proceed in creating your account, we need to collect some personal information to verify your identity. Make sure that you have one form of valid ID (driver’s licence, passport, or Medicare card) with you that is not expired.

  • Click the “Start Identity Verification” button at the bottom of the page

  • Choose which ID you are uploading

  • Fill out all the required fields with your details (information on your ID, date of birth, and residential address)

  • Review and confirm all the information you provided

You will receive an email from us confirming that we received your application for an ExtrasJar Extras Account. We will be verifying your information and documents which will normally be within 10-30 seconds, but if there is any issues it may 3 business days to complete.

Upon verification by the ExtrasJar team of your information, we will update you via email on whether your account was successfully created or was unable to be processed.

Your account may not be processed if either it is incorrectly completed, your bank does not allow direct debit, or the account details you provided are erroneous. We will contact you in the first instance should this be the case, and you will have to restart the application process.

Step #4: Set up your Direct Debit

The next step is to set up your direct debit from an Australian bank account that you nominate and which must be held in your name.

  • Click “Set up your Direct Debit” from the dashboard

  • Input direct debit details in the form

  • Hit “Submit payment details”

  • Accept the terms by checking all the items

  • Click “Yes, sign me up” to submit (if successful, a “thank you” message comes up; if failed, an error message appears)

Direct debit is the payment method used for all your future investment transactions with ExtrasJar.

Please note that direct debit is not available on the full range of accounts and at all financial institutions. If in doubt, please check with your financial institution. If direct debits are not available on your bank account, or you provide the wrong details, we won’t be able to process your payment.

Step #5: Download the ExtrasJar App

The last step is to download the ExtrasJar application either on App Store or Google Play which will be useful for you to keep tabs on your accounts and view all details of our holistic network of providers.

We will also issue your digital ExtrasJar Mastercard® here which will then be available for provision in your digital wallet in Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay after you set it up.

Log into your account and go to “My Products” and you will see your card. If you get both health and pet extras, you will be getting two different digital cards. After which, set up your ExtrasJar Mastercard® to your digital wallet in Apple Pay because you will use this to pay for all treatments you will be getting.

  • On iPhone, open the wallet app and tap the “+” sign

  • On Apple Watch, open the Watch app on your iPhone and tap “Wallet & Apple Pay”, then tap “Add Credit or Debit Card”

  • On the ExtrasJar app, tap “Add to Apple Wallet” and follow the prompts
